Most creators research by scrolling their own feed or copying big accounts. That's backwards.
Big accounts succeed on momentum. When a 500K creator posts, it gets pushed because of who they are, not the idea. You can't reverse-engineer signal from clout. It doesn't work like that.

The algorithm moves fast. A hook that was killing it 3 months ago is probably saturated now. Someone else already made that video 400 times.
Stick to the last 14 days only. You're not doing history research. You're reading what the algorithm is rewarding right now, this week, today. Everything older than that is mostly useless for this exercise.

Spotting a Real-Time Pattern
You open 8 accounts. Six of them posted a "common mistakes" style reel in the last 14 days. That's not a coincidence. The algorithm is rewarding that angle right now. Write it down.

The 3-4x Rule: How to Filter Noise from Signal
Raw view count tells you nothing without context. A reel with 50K views from someone with 200K followers is actually underperforming. That's below average for their audience size.
The 3-4x rule cuts through the noise. If a reel has 3-4x more views than their follower count, the algorithm pushed it beyond their existing audience. The idea is strong. Not the creator. The idea. That's what you're looking for.

Saving reels because the topic interests you personally. Doesn't matter if you find it fascinating. You're looking for what the algorithm decided to push to cold audiences. Your taste is irrelevant here. Data only.

Break It Down Like Game Film
Copying a post gets you nowhere. You end up with a worse version of something that already exists. Nobody wants that, including the algorithm.
What you want to understand is why it worked. Every piece of viral content has a structure underneath it. A hook type. A delivery style. An emotional angle. Once you can name those things, you can use them with your own ideas.

Breaking It Down Properly
Hook: "I trained for 6 months and my pace got worse." (Pain-based. Bold claim.) Structure: personal story with a problem/solution reveal. Delivery: face to camera, slow build. Angle: challenges the idea that more training automatically means better results. Now you know exactly what made it work.
Common Mistake
Stopping at "the topic was good." That's not an insight, that's a lazy observation. Go deeper. Hook type, structure, delivery, angle. All four. Every time. That's where the actual learning is.

Swapping out one word and calling it a remix. Your audience can tell. It sounds like a Mad Libs template. The execution needs to actually sound like you - your voice, your experience, your take.

Somewhere between 20 and 30 entries at any given time. Mix of hooks, angles, topics, and sparks. Sparks are things you noticed this week that aren't fully formed yet but feel like something. Keep those too.
